Lighthouse Palagruza was built in 1875 on the island of Palagruza, placed in the middle of the Adriatic Sea, 68 NM south of Split and 26 NM south of the island of Lastovo. The island is 1400 m long, 300 m wide and 90 m high and it is a nature reserve with numerous endemic species of flora and fauna. There is an archeological site on the island Palagruza Velika while numerous finds bear witness that Palagruza once was the island of the Greek hero Diomedes.
Transfer to the lighthouse is organized from the port of Korcula. Return transfer with a speedboat takes app. 3 hours. It is also possible to arrange transfer directly from Split airport to the lighthouse. Provisioning cannot be supplied on the island so it is necessary to purchase groceries before the transfer to Palagruza.
The lighthouse is placed in the middle of the island, at 90 m height and it is not recommended for the elderly or for those with health problems. There are two apartments in the spacious lighthouse building, each suitable for 4 guests.
Apartment A1 (app. 50 m²): one double room (12 m²), living room with two sofas (14 m²), kitchen (13 m²), WC with shower (3,5 m²).
Apartment A2 (app. 48 m²): two double rooms (17 m² and 10 m²), kitchen (13 m²), WC with shower (3,5 m²).
There are two pebble beaches on the island – Stara Vlaka on the northern side and Veli Zal on the southern side of Velika Palagruza, which is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic.

Apartment facilities: TV and satellite receiver, toilet with shower, 2 smaller and 2 larger towels per apartment, kitchen equipped with sink, stove with oven and refrigerator, bed sheets and two blankets per bed, drinking water from rainfall reservoirs, 220 volt electricity.
